Every Valentine’s Day, couples, friends, and loved ones stock up on flowers, chocolate, and gifts. They worry about dinner reservations and how to make this day “perfect”. What they sometimes forget is the person they’re spending it with and that they come home safely.
What do we mean by this?
Every day, workers in high risk industries face situations where their health and safety is put on the line. This year we want to emphasize the “who” behind Valentine’s Day.
These are the people we are coming home to. These are the people who keep us grounded. These are the people who matter.
Unlike our loved ones who come home safely every day, 15 North American workers will die before they go home, and someone will be injured before you finish reading this sentence.
Our Founder, Adrian Bartha, knows this feeling well. In the summer of 2010, a tragic workplace accident claimed the lives of two young people in a remote east coast community.
At the time, Adrian Bartha was on the project developers’ board of directors and was struck by the weight of the tragedy. The incident had a profound effect on him, knowing that the fatalities were 100% preventable.
Recognizing both that a worker is injured every 7 seconds and smartphone adoption was on the rise, he decided to build a tech company that would protect the frontline workforce and make sure they return home safely to their loved ones every day.
So, how does this relate to eCompliance? What are we doing about it? To start, we have a firm mission. We will eliminate 1 million workplace incidents by the end of 2020. We are currently at just over 650,000 incidents eliminated and we’re just getting started.
Our journey may have started with a tragedy, but nearly a decade later eCompliance continues to help loved ones get home safely, every single day.
