Content Writer

Full-Time  •  Toronto 


eCompliance is looking for a content writer to join the marketing team. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be a problem-solver. The candidate will create compelling blog posts, white papers, product descriptions, social media content and web copy. We’re looking for someone who will help us expand our digital footprint and drive more value through online content.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of producing pieces that increase engagement and drive leads. This position requires a high level of creativity, as well as the ability to use data-driven insights to write better material. The successful candidate should also be detail-oriented and committed to meeting tight deadlines. Preference will be given to those with a strong writing portfolio, bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience.

Reporting to: Sr. Growth Marketing Manager.


  • Develop, write and deliver persuasive copy for the website, email marketing campaigns, sales collateral, videos, and blogs that attracts a qualified audience to our owned properties
  • Build and manage an editorial calendar; coordinate with other content crafters to ensure standards
  • Edit content produced by other members of the team
  • Grow new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content (including offers)
  • Actively manage and promote our blog, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms
  • Optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels
  • Measure impact and perform analysis to improve KPIs
  • Include and optimize all content for SEO
  • Review and implement process changes to drive operational excellence
  • Researching and organizing facts and sources
  • Interviewing sources; staff and expert contacts
  • Consistently brainstorming and collaborating with team (&/or other departments) for new ideas and strategies around content
  • Building a following for brand on social media with creative work and linking to eCompliance resources
  • Researching markets and industries to compare and create content that is innovative and original


  • 5+ years of working as a content marketer (Preference given to a B2B, agency or corporation)
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, linguistics, creative writing, or related field (Master’s degree, a plus)
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and blogging software in order to generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them into converted customers
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, email marketing and web analytics
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills, good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to make complex technical matters easy-to understand even for non-technical people
  • Able to align multiple brand strategies and ideas
  • Confident in producing work across multiple platforms
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team; self-motivated and self-directed
  • Assists team members when needed to accomplish team goals
  • Strong attention to detail and able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Proficient computer skills with a preference towards: HTML/CSS, Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress
